The Pea Green Boat was established in 2011 by Maddy Corbin, selling fantastically tasty home-made products at markets in Edinburgh.

Before long, a loyal and ever-hungry customer base found their way regularly to The Pea Green Boat stand where they could buy a variety of tasty handmade products including, of course, the unique and exceptional Cheese Sablés.

In 2013 a thriving local cheesemonger tried them, loved them and asked if The Pea Green Boat could supply Cheese Sablés to sell from their shop.  From there, Pea Green Boat began to supply wholesale to shops and concentrated more of its attention to growing and developing a Cheese Sablé empire, aiming to stock the best food shops in the country with these deliciously cheesy (and addictive!) morsels. In 2017 The Sunday Times gave The Pea Green Boat’s Original Cheese Sablés a five star rating, listing them as the best cheese biscuit on the market.

Today The Pea Green Boat is based in Leith, Edinburgh having joined Shortbread House of Edinburgh. They stock independent delis, farm shops and food halls up and down the country.  Their fame is spreading and now they are also selling as far afield as the USA and Japan.

The Cheese Sablés are all still made with the original basic recipe but with two additional varieties: Cumin and Fennel & Chilli.  All three have been winners of the coveted Great Taste Awards year on year.
